| 10/3/2008 - MISSISSAUGA MAN SHOT DURING ALTERCATION | Crime of the Week - Mississauga Release # 2008-23a
Investigators from 21 Division are hoping the public will call Crime Stoppers to help shed some light on the sequence of events that led to a man being shot.
During the early morning hours of Friday, August 15, 2008, the 25 year old victim and his 20 year old girlfriend were at his residence on Rexwood Road in Malton. The man went outside the rear door of the townhouse for a brief period and when he returned, two suspects followed him into the residence. Both suspects were armed with handguns and immediately confronted the victim and his girlfriend. One suspect assaulted the woman while the second suspect pointed a handgun at the man.
The woman was able to free herself and run out of the home. As she exited, the woman heard 3 to 4 gunshots from inside of the residence. She was able to track down a citizen who subsequently called police. Upon arrival, police located the male victim in a vehicle on the road, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. A search of the area for the suspects, including the use of Canine officers, was unsuccessful.
The two suspects have been described as:
- Male, white, in his late 20’s, 5’ 8” tall with a heavy build and black hair. He was wearing blue jeans, a multi - coloured long shirt and baseball hat. He also wore clear surgical latex gloves and was armed with a black handgun.
- Male, white, in his 30’s, 5’ 6” tall with red shoulder length hair. He was wearing jeans, a white muscle shirt and a baseball hat. He also wore clear surgical latex gloves and was armed with a revolver.
The male victim suffered serious injuries from the gunshots, but did survive. The female victim was only slightly injured during the confrontation.

| | 9/26/2008 - STORE CLERK ROBBED AT GUNPOINT | Crime of the Week - Brampton

A lone male suspect, armed with a pistol, robbed the clerk of a Brampton convenience store. Investigators are hoping the images of the suspect captured on the surveillance camera will convince the public to call Crime Stoppers to identify this man.
On Saturday, September 20, 2008, shortly after 11:00 in the evening, the suspect approached the clerk at the Hasty Market on Queen Street, west of McLaughlin Road. He pulled a silver pistol from his waistband and demanded money from the cash register. The clerk turned over a small quantity of cash and cigars to the suspect.

| | 9/19/2008 - BREAK-IN SUSPECTS CAUGHT ON TAPE | Crime of the Week - Brampton

Two suspects were caught on surveillance video breaking into a Brampton storage facility office, and the investigators from 22 Division are hoping you can identify the thieves and call Crime Stoppers to help solve this case.
On Monday September 8, 2008 just before 9:00 in the evening, a man and a woman were seen looking into the front window of the office at a storage complex on Heart Lake Road north of Orenda Road. The front door was smashed and entry was gained into the facility where the suspects went to the rear of the office and were able to steal the safe.

| | 9/5/2008 - CONSTRUCTION ROAD GRADER STOLEN | Crime of the Week Brampton - Release #2008-20b
Investigators from the Commercial Auto Crime Bureau are seeking the public’s assistance in tracking down the whereabouts of a very expensive and unique construction vehicle, stolen from a Brampton parking lot.
Sometime between the afternoon of Saturday August 16th and the morning of Monday August 18th, 2008, a Caterpillar Motor Grader, valued at $165,000.00 was stolen from the lot in the area of Sandalwood Parkway and Torbram Road.
The vehicle is yellow in colour, and has the number 211 marked on the unit, under the “ CAT “ logo. It also has “ PILEN ” decals affixed to both sides of the Grader. The two front tires are fairly bald. Photographs of the Grader are below.
If you know the whereabouts of this Construction Road Grader, report this information anonymously to Crime Stoppers. You are also reminded that if you are in any way involved in the theft and / or resale of this stolen Grader, you could face criminal prosecution.

ROBBERY SUSPECTS SOUGHT
Investigators from the Central Robbery Bureau are seeking the public’s assistance identifying suspects in a violent robbery. Your anonymous call to Crime Stoppers can help police solve this case.
On Sunday, August 10, 2008 at about 8:40 p.m., four masked suspects entered the 7 Star Convenience Store located on Conservation Drive in Brampton. One suspect was in possession of a handgun. The suspects ordered the victim to stand still as they emptied the cash register, and removed a quantity of cigarettes.
The suspects then fled the store and entered two vehicles, which have been identified as a 2-door silver Volkswagen, and 4-door black Honda Civic. The suspect vehicles were last seen fleeing southbound on Highway 410.
Investigators have identified one of the four suspects as Ryan RANKINE, 18 years of age from Toronto. An Arrest Warrant has been issued for a number of robbery related offences. For a photograph of the suspect, see below.
